whispersA few years ago there wasn’t much scope for disabled people online.  The larger dating sites appeared to have overlooked their particular needs and left a gap in the market.  The creators of Whispers4u.com spotted this opportunity and started their site.  By doing so they soon created a much needed place in cyberspace for the differently-abled.  It’s a social network and online community for people with all kinds of disabilities and not just a dating site for people in wheelchairs.  Most able bodied people see the disability first and the person second, but the owners of this site and of course all its members see the person first each time.  However, you don’t have to have a disability to join!  The site is open to anyone as long as they are open to a relationship with someone who may have a disability of some kind.  It’s based up on the interests of the individual and not what they can or can’t do.  The site has a membership of over 30,000 and upgraded to a new format in the Spring of 2008.  Members can enjoy live chat rooms, blogs, events, video uploads, and advanced fraud detection and other security measures.
